Introducing Scouting Square: have you spotted these new timber‑and‑stone benches? They're engraved with motifs and plaques celebrating:

🌳 Birkenhead Park
🏰 The Priory & Ferry
⚓ Cammell Laird
🚋 Street Tramway
🚇 Queensway Tunnel
⛺ Scout Movement

They form a new space to be known as 'Scouting Square' in Birkenhead town centre, outside Primark which is the old YMCA building where Robert Baden-Powell visited to launch the Scout Movement.

The benches are joined by a collection of etched scouting badge emblems on the surrounding paving stones. It's a project funded through the UK government’s Future High Street Fund and Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s Active Travel fund.
