We are a small group of residents and traders who are trying to keep Bromborough alive by promoting the area with the Christmas Market and Summer Fair events. We are totally non- profit making and need the good will of the community to help promote these events and the area itself.

Yesterday our fabulous Lin & Ian decided to tidy up the flower beds on Bromborough Village Rd/High Street. Whilst working away The Turkish BBQ / Med Kitchen Brom rolled out the all the stops to say thank you. Appearing with table, chairs, drinks & cake. This was very much appreciated. Thank you for surprising them. An act of kindness that goes a long way.

Most days you will see Lin & Ian working in the village, at the village hall or around the Church. They generously give up their time to do make our village a better place for everyone to enjoy.

Last night the Environment, Climate Emergency & Transport Committee met to debate & vote on the plan to introduce charges in 22 carparks across the Wirral.

Such was the strength of opposition from the recent consultation exercise (97% of those who took part voted against the scheme), that they cancelled the vote and instead voted to refer the strategy to the Policy & Resources Committee for review. We have no idea where this will lead, but is at least, a stay of ex*****on which is heartening.

The policy, recently announced by the Wirral Borough Council, has been implemented without fully appreciating the different impacts such charges will have on the adjacent shops and businesses.

Our community is built on the support of small businesses that rely heavily on foot traffic and easy accessibility. Implementing parking fees in areas like ours could lead to a reduction in customers visiting local shops, potentially resulting in significantly decreased revenues for small business owners. A blanket policy does not consider the unique dynamics and needs of communities like Bromborough Village, where parking availability without charge is crucial to sustaining economic vitality.
