Well Done to our Cadets on both Teams!

Today, cadets from across the Manchester District attended the Sea Cadets North West Area Drill & Piping Competition for 2026. Manchester District entered two teams in the Unarmed Squad Category with cadets from Tameside Sea Cadet Corps, Stockport Sea Cadets Unit, Royal Marines Cadets - Trafford, Sea Cadets Trafford, Manchester Trafalgar Sea Cadets, Salford Sea Cadets, Middleton & Chadderton Sea Cadets.

Our cadets have shown incredible dedication to their training over the past few weeks, and we’re proud to share their outstanding results:

🏆 2 Troop Combined Team (Manchester) – 1st Place
🥈 Manchester Sea Cadets Team – 2nd Place

We couldn’t be prouder of their achievements. Performing in front of large crowds in a highly competitive environment is no small feat, yet our cadets delivered with confidence, professionalism, and impeccable conduct throughout the day.

Bravo Zulu to all our cadets for their commitment and success!

A huge thank you to our adult volunteers who made today possible. Special recognition goes to Chief Petty Officer (SCC) Luke Norton, District Staff Officer for Drill & Ceremonial, for his leadership, and Probationary Sergeant (SCC) Ryan Knowles, Drill Leader and POC Morrison for their valuable contribution.

Dear All,

As we come to the end of another year, I would like to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for everything you have contributed over the past year.

Your commitment, effort, and hard work have been outstanding, and it has been great to see so many of you achieve the goals you set out to accomplish. Whether on parade nights, courses, events, or behind the scenes, your dedication has not gone unnoticed and has played a huge part in the success of the unit.

We now look forward to the year ahead, with new challenges to take on and new goals to work towards together. I am confident that, with the same enthusiasm and teamwork, the coming year will be just as rewarding.

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a well-earned break, enjoying the time with family and friends. We look forward to seeing you all back refreshed and ready to go for our first parade night on Thursday 8th January 2026.

Our 80th Anniversary Dinner was a tremendous success last night. Thank you to all our guests, parents, and cadets for joining us in this special celebration. It was a pleasure to see you all.

In celebration of our 80th Anniversary, we’re holding a special raffle competition with some fabulous prizes up for grabs that have been kindly donated to us by the local community - see below!

The raffle will be drawn at the 80th Anniversary dinner on Saturday, with tickets available to purchase on the night - but as it would only be fair to offer all Cadets and Next of Kins the chance to win a prize, the decision has been made to extend the raffle out.

Belgium War Graves Tour 2025

An incredible trip for the cadets, departing early Monday morning for a packed 4 days. The Cadets stayed in the town of Ypres. Ypres was the site of three major battles during World War 1

Each day varied from German trenches to the Tyne Cot Cemetery, a Commonwealth War Grave. The most humbling experience was parading under the Menin Gate, the resting place for 55,000 soldiers with unknown graves.

The coach was a much quieter place on the return journey.
