Great news, a new group has been formed to take over events (past and present) in the Havens. The Carnival Gang (David Hopewell, Becky Burch, Debbie Jones and Mark Burch) have agreed to pass over the funds in the old Carnival Account to the new Havens Events Crew.
We thought it would be good to let everyone know where the money has been spent (over the last few years). In 2019 there was circa £18,600 in the account we were asked to be custodians of. Here is a list of what has been donated where since then:
£1,200 donated to Little Haven Short Mat Bowls
£1,000 donated to Pembrokeshire Blood Bikes (from the proceeds of the 2019 Carnival)
£800 donated to the Broad Haven Life Saving Club
£480 paid to replace the bench destroyed by the park (’The Rainbow Bench’ as the kids call it)
£12,985.75 donated to Havens Community Council for the ‘Play Hamlet’ in the smaller children’s play area.
That’s a whopping £16,465.75 donated to great causes in the Havens - a huge thank you to everyone who has helped, donated their time (and money) to have made this possible.
This also means, that due to the success of the 2019 Carnival we can pass over to the new Havens Event Crew a little over £5,500!!
