Autumn is upon us (even though it doesn’t much feel like it) and moth numbers have dropped a fair bit. But that doesn’t mean there’s nowt out there!

You probably know by now that we love moths for so many reasons and one is their unique little quirks - the odd things you uncover when you start to learn more about them.

So here are some beautiful but also bizarre moth species still flying in October and the things that make them stand out in a crowd.

✨ A morning of meeting moths that depend on edible plants.

Last time we met the plants that moth caterpillars love and this time we’re meeting the adult moths themselves!

We’ll unbox our overnight moth trap together, revealing the beautiful and surprising moth species that flew in while we slept. We’ll learn about the moths and the edible medicines they love to feast on too 🌿

Come along for a slow, nature-filled start to the day. Meet at reception and then head down to the wildlife garden!

Grab some coffee from the wonderful cafe to fuel the morning or a spot of brunch after ☕️

🌿 Join Charlie and Willow from Charlie & Willow | Community moth project at Windmill Hill City Farm as they unbox their moth trap, revealing the beautiful and surprising moth species that flew in overnight!

Come along for a slow, nature-filled start to the day.

Meet at reception and then we’ll head down to the wildlife garden!

✨ We’ll begin with a short introduction to why moths are magic, including readings from our favourite moth books, then carefully open the trap - learning about the moth species as we go.

🔍 There’ll be plenty of time to look closely at the moths in pots, while we enjoy wildlife chats with newly found friends.

☕️ Grab a coffee from the gorgeous cafe first for the perfect moth morning fuel!

We’ll be opening the trap at 9am and will keep going until all the moths are revealed. So don’t arrive too late as you may miss them!

Join us a for Moth Morning in our garden with brekkie.

☕️ What better way to celebrate the nature living on our doorstep than a relaxed and welcoming morning of fresh coffee, pastries and marvellous moths!

✨ We’ll begin with a short introduction to why moths are magic, including readings from our favourite moth books, then carefully open the trap and identify the beautiful species that visited while we slept.

🔍 There’ll be plenty of time to look closely at the moths in pots and perhaps hold or draw a couple, while we enjoy wildlife chats with newly found friends.

🥐 Expect coffee and tea on tap and warm pastries and fruit to keep us all going!
