We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Day filled with family, food and a little festive magic. The lights are still shining bright tonight, and we’d love to welcome you if you’re out for a walk or visiting loved ones.

This year’s display has been our biggest yet - and seeing so many of you stop by, donate, take photos and support the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans has meant more than you know. 🇬🇧❤️

Christmas Eve under the lights 🎄✨

It’s been an unbelievable December here in Winterbourne Down, from national news crews visiting to thousands of people coming to see the display and support the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans.

We never take moments like this for granted. Every camera, every interview, every visitor helps shine a light on a cause that means the world to us 🇬🇧❤️

As the snow machines fall and the lights glow brighter than ever, we just want to say a huge thank you for the kindness, generosity and support you’ve shown this year.

There’s something special about seeing The Stone House through the glow of the lights ✨

Up close, the display feels almost dreamlike - thousands of tiny bulbs reflecting in every direction, turning the whole entrance into a shimmer of gold.

It’s a beautiful moment, but behind the sparkle is a purpose that matters even more: raising funds for the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans.

A huge thank you to our incredibly kind and patient neighbours, who’ve let us put scaffolding on their driveways for weeks while we build this mammoth display ❤️

Behind the 320,000 lights is a mountain of work (and more than a few late nights!), but the support from the local community makes it all worthwhile.

The smiles, the comments, the families stopping by - it’s why we do it.

And of course, it’s all for the Taxi Charity, who give so much to our beloved veterans.

The Taxi Charity for Military Veterans is run by volunteer London black taxi drivers and has been supporting thousands of veterans since 1948.

They are the only Forces charity that focuses on providing fun and entertainment.

They arrange free events for veterans from all conflicts, including trips to the Netherlands and France for acts of commemoration, and days out to museums, concerts or social outings across the UK.

"I’ve seen the work they do and you’ve only got to look at the smile on the their faces to see how much this charity means to them.

I think it’s amazing! I’d like to thank the taxi drivers, volunteers and everybody else who’s involved with the charity for their ongoing work!

I hope everybody has a great Christmas with family, friends and loved ones.

This year’s display has gone beyond anything we’ve ever attempted 320,000 lights!
✨ Giant commercial light sets - 5,000 bulbs each
✨ Scaffolding across three driveways
✨ Snow machines, reindeer, and a sleigh flying off the roof

All to raise funds for the brilliant Taxi Charity who give WWII and other veterans unforgettable trips to France, Belgium and Holland.

Last year you helped raise £15,300.

Every year, Richard travels to Normandy for the D-Day anniversary and sees firsthand the incredible work the Taxi Charity does for our veterans.

They take them back to Holland, France, Germany - places where they fought - giving them friendship, respite, and the chance to reunite with old comrades 🇬🇧❤️

That’s why he’s gone bigger than ever this year.

An extra 125,000 lights.
Over 320,000 lights in total.

Snow machines, reindeer, sleighs, scaffolding, and the most patient neighbours in the world!

All to support a charity that means so much to us.

Hearing the stories of our veterans is a powerful reminder of why we continue to support the Taxi Charity - and why every single light in this display shines with purpose ❤️🇬🇧

Mervyn Kersh is one of the few remaining World War Two veterans still able to share his extraordinary story.

He joined the British Army at just 18 years old, and at 19, he landed on the beaches of Normandy - arriving three days after the D-Day invasion had begun.

From there, Mervyn and his comrades pushed through Europe, fighting relentlessly against N**i forces. His service eventually took him into the heart of N**i Germany, where he witnessed first-hand the unimaginable horrors of the regime and the Holocaust.

Mervyn’s courage, resilience and willingness to keep sharing his experiences help ensure that future generations understand the reality of what so many endured.

We are honoured to highlight his story, and we thank him, and every veteran, for their service, strength and incredible bravery.

Every year this little corner becomes one of the most photographed spots in Winterbourne Down, and it’s easy to see why.

Thousands of lights cascade over the stone walls, transforming the house into something truly magical.

But behind the sparkle is a far bigger purpose: raising vital funds for the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans.
