What does the climate crisis actually mean for Thornbury?

Last November, a group of the UK’s leading scientists and security experts delivered a high-level briefing to over 1,200 leaders at Westminster. They laid out the frank evidence on how the climate and nature crisis is already impacting our food security, health, and national economy.

CATSA and St Mary's Church are hosting a screening of The People's Emergency Briefing film this June. This isn't just about the science—it’s a 50-minute documentary featuring voices like Chris Packham and Deborah Meaden, followed by a
Q&A with our Thornbury & Yate MP - Claire Young.

🐣 Have a go at our Easter guessing competition, which asks:

❓ What percentage of the UK’s electricity ⚡️ came from renewables at 5pm on Good Friday? 🤔

We’ve had some very good guesses 🙌🏼, and some a bit less close 😆 and lots of surprised people. And a chocolatey prize to take home.

The answer is renewables are powering the grid⚡️⚡️
