Join us to celebrate Black History Month!

Bernard Morris, alumni of Trinity College and lead for the Pastor’s Development Programme commencing next year. He has been busy helping the Trinity community celebrate this year’s Black History Month.

Upcoming Events:

Next Thursday evening, 22nd October at 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm. Joseph Ijoyemi, multifaceted artist who has been commissioned by Bristol Cathedral to respond to the Colston window. He will talk about his experience in navigating the process.

Thursday 5th November, during November block week, Dr Matthew Williams from York University will lead an optional workshop for students on ethno-musicology and thinking about gospel music and its meanings.

Thursday 19th November (TBC), discussion panel in the Badger’s Pouch looking at a subject relevant to Black History Month.

We are excited to announce a new short course starting 10th November, titled ‘Methods of Reading the Bible’, taught by Sofanit Abebe.

The course will cover approaches and possible questions around New Testament texts. What does it mean for something to be an Epistle, or a Gospel? How did the culture of the 1st Century inform the writing of the New Testament texts? How do we approach two different interpretations?

No background in theology is needed; come with your curiosity and questions, and learn new things about the Bible!
