Co Working space : Bristol Textile Quarter studio and resource hub provides textile workers with affordable access to workspace and equipment as well as the space and opportunity to meet, connec
t and collaborate with likeminded peers. Meet Make Mend: A monthly informal gathering of slow stitching minds… Bring your mending or slow stitch project and allow yourself the opportunity to repair… Whether you are an experienced mender or a complete novice, you are very welcome. Meet – Other members of Bristol’s Textile Community
Make – New Contacts, Share Skills and start New Projects
Mend – Bring a beloved piece of clothing to mend (*no experience needed, we can help each other)
Advice and Consultancy: While we celebrate new endeavours that are prioritising sustainable and ethical practices and want to support them to align with Bristol Textile Quarter principles , we have limited resources and capacity to do this while fundraising to develop the programs and support packages that we plan to offer our growing community of businesses and makers in the future. Indeed, we have a fantastic network that holds a huge amount of expertise, including business planning and administration, marketing and communications, design, tech editing, manufacture and a great wealth of artisanal textile skills as well as farming and animal husbandry. For this reason we offer an initial 30 minute meeting/consultation free of charge. A key objective of this meeting will be to establish if and how we and our network, can help further, and to map out a potential support/consultancy strategy that will be subsequently be charged at an hourly rate depending on the type of work required.
