This Sunday 18th October, from 11am-3pm, we will be hosting a volunteer day!

This month's volunteer day will be hosted by Tin and Frances from the farmhouse, and they have a big list of house and farm-wide jobs to get through...

All abilities are welcome. Just make sure to bring practical clothing, sensible and sturdy shoes, and plenty of snacks and water!

No need to sign up, simply arrive at 11am and they will allocate tasks.

The Red Shepherd Folk House workshops are returning to Bridge Farm.

Wool:

Come along to our wool processing workshop! Hosted by Betsy Murphy, a local shearer and traditional textile artist, this all-day class covers every aspect of wool processing, from raw fleece to spin yarn. Butchery:

Betsy is back with her feral butchery workshops! This 4 hour class was popular with everyone, from complete beginners to vegetarians curious about ethical meat. This is a supported container while we get comfortable with skinning rabbits, handling carcasses, and discussing roadkill hygiene + food sovereignty. You go home with all the meat and a rabbit hide! A JOURNEY THROUGH ROCK AND MICROBE

Sunday 18th October, 10am-4pm

A practical workshop in rescaling and rehumbling the human, through the teachings of Rock and Microbe.

We shall talk about deep time, we shall play some games, we shall taste and make a fermented (vegan & gluten-free) potion to take home, and we shall (try to) remember the wonder and bizarreness of being a human.

Be part of a new housing coop at Bridge Farm – info day

Sick of landlords? Interested in living in community? Want to take charge of your own housing? Come get involved in a housing coop at Bridge Farm.

We have a six-bedroom farmhouse at Bridge Farm in the Eastville area of Bristol, and want to establish community-led, long term, multigenerational and inclusive affordable housing there.

The building was in a terrible state of repair when we bought it in 2024, and we are in the process of getting it structurally sound and weatherproof. Now we need new people involved to establish a housing coop, social enterprise, or community interest company in the building and oversee the next stage of its conversion into a place where people can live.

The Bridge Farm Long Table returns this Sunday!!

This is a special Get Growing Trail edition of our popular community feast, and will follow our volunteer day.

The meal will be plant based, gluten-free and pay-what-you-can.

If you are thinking of coming, please make sure to sign up via the Linktree in our bio, and fill out the form!

We’ve created this form to gather an idea of how many people are likely to come and enable us to cater to people's allergies and food needs. This will also really support us to ensure there is enough food for everyone who wants to come while minimising food waste.

We are delighted to be part of the Bristol Get Growing Trail 2026. We will be opening the farm on Sunday 13th September from 11am-5pm, hosting a variety of activities.

The day will begin with a volunteer session hosted by the Communal Growers. This will be from 11am-3pm. There will be no need to sign up, simply arrive at 11am and one of the growers will guide you into task. No experience necessary!

This will be followed by our monthly Community Long Table feasts, from 3pm-5pm. The meal will be plant-based, gluten-free and pay-what-you-can.

Farm-wide Volunteer Day / Sunday 12th July, 11am-3pm

Come along for July's volunteer Sunday at Bridge Farm! This month will be hosted by both the Communal Growers and The Chickens and Pigs group. No experience necessary - simply arrive at 11am and one of the lead volunteers will guide you into an appropriate task.

There will be plenty of weeding in the communal patch to do, for those wanting to get their hands in the soil. And for those more interested in working with animals, the chicken coop and pig pen need a general spruce, and the pig's nails need cutting!

Unfortunately, the Long Table feast is on pause for the foreseeable future. So for any volunteers wanting to come along, please make sure to bring lunch with you (and plenty of snacks!!).

Sunday is going to be hot, so make sure to bring a water bottle, sunhat and suncream with you, as well as sensible clothing!

Soft Spot is a community event for sharing any words that hold any sort of meaning to you. This is our anniversary party, with homemade pizza, DJs, a fire pit, and the beautiful space at Bridge Farm to relax in afterwards.

The words you share can be sentimental, funny, nonsensical or logical. The more experimental you get, the better. It’s a no-pressure, no-judgment environment where you’re free to express whatever you want to, or just sit and listen. No experience needed.
A non extensive list of word forms you might want to share: Instagram stories, blog posts, your fave sub-stack, lyrics, an acapella folk song (no instruments please), your 8yr old selfs journal entries, eBay watch lists, horoscopes, shopping lists, emails, cold call scripts, voice notes (with permission from the subject obvs), book excerpts, poems, notes app rambles, a dream you recorded, unsent letters, sent letters, news headlines, birthday card messages, a well crafted text, comedy sketches, spoken word, instructions, reddit feeds, your pets vet record….
