everyFAMILY is a registered charity providing family support and childcare for our local community in north Bristol and beyond. Our aim is to improve the education and development of babies and young children by providing family support services, community groups and nursery and preschool care. We lead the Bristol-wide initiative to support children affected by parental offending (CAPO). everyFAMILY was formally known as Brentry & Henbury Children’s Centre and was established in 2004.

A huge thank you to the Bristol Property Association (BPAA) for the incredible £33,200 they raised for everyFAMILY last year. We are absolutely delighted by this generous donation and the positive impact it will have on the families we support.

☀️ Sun Safety Tips for Little Ones 🧢🕶️🍉

As the sunshine fills our days, here are some gentle reminders to help keep your little ones cool, comfortable, and protected — whether you’re out and about or staying at home:

✅ Suncream first! Use a high-factor (SPF 30+) suncream and reapply regularly, especially after water play.
✅ Hats on! Choose a wide-brimmed or neck-covering hat for extra sun protection.
✅ Hydration is key. Encourage sips of water throughout the day — and fruits like watermelon 🍉 help too!
✅ Dress light. Loose, breathable clothing keeps skin covered but cool.
✅ Stay shady. Play in the shade when the sun’s at its strongest (11am–3pm).
✅ Cool play ideas. Water play, ice cubes, and damp cloths on wrists or necks can help regulate body temperature. 💦
✅ Keep the house cool by closing curtains or blinds in sunny rooms during the day

🌼 Our Community Groups will be taking a little break over May Half Term! 🌼

All groups will be closed during the week commencing 25th May, and we can’t wait to welcome you back from Tuesday 2nd June with Musical Babies 🎶👶

(Please note: there will be no Play Time group on Monday 1st June. Play Time will return on Monday 8th June).

What an incredible day at our Summer Fayre! ☀️🎉

Thanks to the amazing support from stmaryschurchhenbury, and our wonderful parents, staff and families who always show up for everyFAMILY events, we’re thrilled to share that we raised an incredible £3000! 💜

A huge special thank you to one of our parents, Carly, for the fantastic raffle prizes, and to rainbow_bakehouse for the incredible cakes, alongside the delicious donations from Henbury Church. 🍰

We couldn’t have done it without our incredible volunteers who worked their socks off helping us prepare for the big day, from labelling the tombola's, collecting preloved books and teddies, setting up gazebo's, running stalls, selling raffle tickets and packing everything away — you are all amazing! 🙌

The weather was on our side, Party Peeps - Children's Party Entertainment brought the fun, and the atmosphere made it such a special day for everyone.

Special thanks also to Severn Tunnel Band for playing some amazing 90's classics, and to avonfirerescue and Avon and Somerset Police for coming along and supporting our event

Thank you for helping us continue to support families in our community — we couldn’t do it without you. 💜

Yesterday we welcomed our first Quality Assurance visit from the Big Brush Club since implementing their toothbrushing programme here at everyFAMILY 🦷✨

We are incredibly proud of our amazing team in embedding healthy toothbrushing routines into everyday practice, and to see how positively the children have engaged with and adapted to these routines 💜

Some lovely feedback from the visit included:

“Following the quality assurance annual review visit, I was able to clearly see that a highly effective and well-established toothbrushing routine has been successfully embedded. The programme is well organised and confidently led by staff. Infection prevention and control standards are of a very high quality, with clean, well-organised storage systems and robust hand hygiene practices in place”.

“Overall, staff were able to showcase effective organisation, and clear staff commitment has ensured the delivery of high-quality toothbrushing sessions. All staff and children should be extremely proud of the progress made in successfully implementing a high standard of the programme”.

💜 A big thank you to Beth at Mini First Aid Bristol for delivering such fantastic sessions for our children here at everyFAMILY.

Our Pre-schoolers loved their “First Aid with Freddie” classes, where they learned important basics like how to call 999, understanding what happens if they’re hurt, and how to stay safe while eating.

Our After-School Hangout (ASH) children also had an amazing hands-on session, learning vital first aid skills including CPR, how to help someone who is choking, and how to deal with bumps, burns, breaks and bleeding.

These engaging, practical sessions help build confidence and give children the skills they need to respond in an emergency- while having lots of fun along the way! 💜
