Parallel is a photography exhibition by Abril Sigle exploring life inside St Catherine’s Place in Bristol, a site shaped by redevelopment, shifting uses, and changing ideas of home. Once a shopping centre, later combined with council housing, and now moving towards private flats, the building becomes a space where different lives, rhythms and transitions exist side by side.

Moving between documentary observation and personal reflection, the exhibition asks how we live through change while it is still unfolding.

The Island Gallery, First Floor, Bridewell Street, Bristol. BS1 2QD.

Launch Night Thursday 25th from 6pm - 10pm
Exhibition: Friday 26th - Sunday 28th June from 10 am - 6 pm

The Island Gallery is located on the first floor of the building. Access is limited by two flights of stairs, please see artspace.uk/venue/the-island/gallery-space/ for our full accessibility document.

🎸 MAKE FIDDLERS A MAJOR SOUTH BRISTOL CULTURAL HUB. CALLING THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AND WIDER CREATIVE SECTOR 📢

For three decades, Fiddlers has been the beating heart of the South Bristol music scene. But with the owners retiring, the building is heading to auction on June 17th, 2026, and faces being lost forever, and is marketed as having potential for residential development.

Bedminster Works and Artspace Lifespace want to save this venue, buy it and keep it in community hands.
Our vision is to keep the live music venue alive, but also breathe new year-round life into the space:

🎵 Enhanced Live Music Venue: Retain the venue for emerging and world-class talent, with daytime rehearsals and multi-use activities.
Studios: Low-cost, round-the-clock rehearsal and residency rooms, with a focus on supporting South Bristol communities.
Community Hub: A flexible anchor for South Bristol residents and grassroots groups, featuring locally shaped spaces.

🫵 We need the community's voice to drive this campaign forward. Drop your memories, ideas, and suggestions in the comments:

💬What is your favourite memory of Fiddlers?
💬What do you think of our vision?
💬How could we make this space even better for Bedminster and South Bristol?
