CANCELLED- SWA MACT FRIDAY 23 - SUNDAY 25 OCTOBER 2026

The difficult decision was made to cancel this weekend's MACT, due to the weather forecast which now puts the SW under an AMBER warning.

The ATO emailed all CFAV supporting the weekend and all Unit CO/OIC and UTO.

As per the email, if you have not done so, please respond to confirm you have read and understood the contents.

As we get ready for National Cadets Week, we wanted to take a look back at our recent South West Area Cadet Voice Conference!

More than 50 cadets from across the South West came together for a weekend of sharing ideas and discussion which will help shape the future of Sea Cadets.

From big ideas and thoughtful conversations to plenty of fun along the way, it was a fantastic weekend — and a brilliant reminder of the enthusiasm, ambition and creativity of our cadets.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the weekend such a success! 👏

A spectacular conclusion to the National Sail Competition, culminating in our team securing 2nd Place Overall 🏆 in the Regatta standings. This national runner-up finish highlights the incredible depth of talent and consistency across our units in both sailing and windsurfing disciplines.

The final results are in, and what a sensational national sail weekend! ⛵️💨🏄‍♂️

Here is how the entire team performed on the national stage:🏆 The National Champions

Fishguard Unit – 1st Place, Windsurfing up to 4.8 🥇

Birmingham Vernon Unit – 1st Place, Open Zest 🥇

Bridgwater Unit – 1st Place, Topper 🥇

🥈 Top 3 Podium Finishers

Portland Unit – 2nd Place, Windsurfing up to 5.8 🥈

Plymouth Drake Unit – 3rd Place, Open Quest 🥉⚓️

Outstanding Fleet Finishes

Milford Haven Unit – 4th Place,

Windsurfing up to 6.8 & 12th Place

Yeovil Unit – 4th Place, Pico

Portland Unit – 5th Place (Open Zest) & 9th Place (Junior Quest)

Tewkesbury Unit – 5th Place (Open Quest)

Finishing 2nd overall in the entire country is a phenomenal testament to the teamwork, sportsmanship, and grit on display across every single board and dinghy. A massive thank you to all the instructors, volunteers, and safety crews who made this incredible weekend possible! 🌊👏

The weekend we also saw a visit from Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal who is the Admiral of the Sea Cadet Corps.
