🥳 Lineup Announcement for our 30th Birthday Party! 🥳

Drop-in throughout the day on Saturday 17th October for live music, cake, hot food and family-friendly fun. Play with creative tech, get hands-on with creative activities, explore our space while it's being revamped and lots more... Everyone is welcome - whether this is your first time or you've been joining us for years. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

11-12:30:

- Experiment with augmented reality art with artist Abbi Bayliss.
- Make accessories using our laser-cutter.
- Make a postcard for our time capsule with artist Claudia Collins.
- Dreaming activity with artist Megan Clark-Bagnall.
- Knitting with community-led group, Knit & Natter.

11.30-1:

- Photoshoot with people and/or pets, bring your pet along! (Please keep pets outside).

12 - 2:

- Hot food available (for free, tokens given on entry).

12 - 1:

- Make your own zine with artist Mereida Fajardo.

1 - 2:

- Welcome. Cake! Music performances.

1.30 - 3.30:

- Facepainting.

2- 3.30:

- DIY party hats with artist Ramona Eve Bigwood.

2.30 - 4:

- Make music with conductive objects.
- Sewing with community-led group, Great Oak Tree.
- Dreaming activity with artist Megan Clark-Bagnall.
- Make a postcard for our time capsule with artist Claudia Collins.

2.30 - 4:

- Join a podcast using the Conversation Station.
- Perry pressing and clay processing with WeCanMake.

4 - 5:

- Speeches.
- Screening of ‘10 Tips for Transformation - Knowle West Style’.
- Tree planting and burying a time capsule.

All Day:

- DJ and music workshops on the Noods Radio TREAD bus.
- Rolling films about KWMC and Knowle West.
- Read The Good Times Newspaper, celebrating 30 years of KWMC.
- Explore our Foundations for the Future exhibition celebrating 30 years of KWMC.
- Explore our space while it's being revamped as part of the Open-Door Residency with Emmanuella Morsi - including our newly relocated Making Space!

💥 FREE October Half-Term activities for ages 14-17 💥

Who gets to decide what’s good or bad about smartphones?

Join a team of young co-creators to explore one of the biggest debates facing your generation. Work with artists and researchers to invent a fun, creative tool that gets people talking about digital life and puts young people’s ideas at the centre of the conversation. After, you’ll have the opportunity to continue with the project until January, as a paid peer researcher, testing your tool with young people across Bristol.

Priority for young people in BS4, BS3 5, BS13 & BS14.

Do you want to discover more about the birds and wildlife visiting your garden? 🌲

We're inviting local people in/near Knowle West plus creatives and technologists from Bristol and beyond to join us in creating Nature Listening Kits. The kits will identify local birds using simple electronics and local AI technology, so you can see who's visited your garden while you've been away!

We need your ideas to help make them easy and accessible for everyone to use. No experience needed.

🗓️ Thurs 1st, 8th + 22nd Oct. 6-8pm. Come along to one, two, or all three relaxed sessions. By the end, we hope to have co-created kits which people living in/near Knowle West can take home.
