Royal Marines Cadets - Alpha Company

02/10/2026

Wednesday marked a tremendous achievement for Alpha Company at this year’s His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City and County of Bristol Awards Ceremony.

We were incredibly proud to see our very own Capt Bird and Major Edwards recognised with Certificates of Meritorious Service, a fantastic acknowledgement of their commitment, dedication and service.

Huge congratulations also go to Lt Cdr Kinghorn, who received a Certificate of Meritorious Service, and to AC Saskia, who was appointed as one of His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets.

A very proud evening and some thoroughly deserved recognition for all involved. 👏

That’s a wrap – Summer Training 2026 is officially over!

It’s been a full-on camp this year, with cadets taking part in foundation skills, individual skills and advanced tactical training.

Our new Cadet Force Adult Instructors have been equally busy, completing vital fieldcraft and military map reading Core Modules

After all that hard work, the final afternoon was a little more relaxed, with a very entertaining potted sports competition. The cadets particularly enjoyed the opportunity to help a few of our instructors “cool down” with plenty of cold water!

Our cadets have been brilliant throughout. They’ve worked hard, thrown themselves into everything and done themselves proud.

A huge thank you also goes to our adult instructors and volunteers. With a smaller team and a compressed programme, they’ve gone above and beyond to deliver first-rate training and make sure the cadets had the best experience possible.

Thank you to everyone who played a part in making Summer Training 2026 such a success.

Get some well-earned rest, recharge the batteries, and I’ll see you all at the next event.

A very proud 0A, out.

Promoting safety, responsibility and discipline. Cadets are taught r***e handling skills and undertake range target shooting as part of a structured programme of supervised training that emphasises safe and responsible use.
