As part of our Hate Crime Awareness Week launch, we welcomed the newest addition to the team, our Club Champions!

“A fantastic evening as we welcomed the first meeting of our No Hate, Just Sport Club Champions. The energy, expertise and commitment in the room from club volunteers was inspiring. There was a real sense of shared purpose: to protect the values that make sport so powerful. Sport brings people and communities together and breaks down barriers, and sports clubs can be that safe space where everyone can simply be themselves. Our Club Champions will help make that a reality, championing the campaign in their clubs, making their environments safer and more welcoming for all, and shaping the resources and training we provide.
At a time when we’re seeing rising levels of hate and discrimination, it feels hugely encouraging to see this network begin to take shape. I’m proud of how this work is progressing and hopeful it will create real change, because by working together, we are stronger in tackling discrimination and hate.” Sarah Mcleod, Strategic Lead for Places and Communities at Wesport.

Funding Opportunity! Quartet North Somerset Community Partnership Grant. Managed by Quartet Community Foundation, and the North Somerset Community Partnership, the Grant provides funding to local voluntary, community, charity and social enterprise organisations that improve the health and wellbeing of disadvantaged people in North Somerset. Grants are available from £1,000 to £20,000, with the average award being around £11,800.

Emily and Matt, our Sport Welfare Officers have been at Bath Spa University today, delivering our “Welfare and Club Culture in University Sport” workshop to student sport captains and committee members.

Sports clubs in universities are a great way for students to make friends, build new social circles, and keep fit and healthy. Having a safer sporting culture makes sure everyone can take part free from all forms of harassment and abuse 🌟 Thanks to Colin, Maddi and the team at Bath Spa Students Union for inviting us down.

Funding opportunity for community organisations! Applications close soon for the Common Ground Award. The Award is offering grants of £20,000 to £50,000 to help community organisations create welcoming spaces, strengthen community connections and bring people from different backgrounds together.
