If you are a student then meningitis matters to you. There are many ways that you can help meningitis research by fundraising for us through your students union, your RAG society or your halls. You could be climbing to the rooftop of Africa, Kilimanjaro, or picking up a bucket and collecting all across the UK. But it doesn’t stop there – you could organise a hitchhike, run to Paris or jump out of a plane. We have been working with students for 25 years, putting on fundraisers and raising awareness about meningitis amongst a key group. With three full time student fundraisers and a wealth of knowledge and resources, we are here to support you in supporting us.

Choose your leader!

Introducing some of our Challenge Leaders for the 26/27 year and the challenges they will be helping us take the next generation on. We can't wait to work with this incredible bunch and all the others who couldn't make it to our training day the other week.

We were incredibly lucky to have gold medal winning GB Paralympian, and the first disabled person to climb Kilimanjaro unassisted, Aaron Phipps join us at our training day the other week. Aaron came to share his story to inspire and spur on our Challenge Leaders for the challenge they're taking on.

Listening to his story was incredibly moving and was an absolute highlight of the day.

We had a great 2 days in London last week meeting some of our amazing Challenge Leaders who will be taking on our 2027 trips! Thank you all so much for coming💜

During our training day, kindly hosted by , we looked at the exciting year ahead and got thinking about our fundraising. We were lucky enough to have the incredible join us for an inspirational talk. Thanks also to for your fun and informative training day (and serious karaoke skills!)

During her first year at university, Lisa was diagnosed with Meningitis B. She initially put her symptoms down to usual aches and pains from training, but it soon became clear that something far more serious was happening.

After spending time in hospital, Lisa thankfully recovered. But the lasting effects of meningitis meant that life looked very different for her afterwards.

Determined to turn her experience into action, Lisa returned to university and, during her final year of studies, climbed Kilimanjaro to raise funds for Meningitis Research Foundation. In doing so, she became part of the growing movement of students helping to close the gap in protection for young people.

It's that time of year again. By the end of the month our timelines are going to be full of photos from all over the world and we can't wait. Whether you're taking on Mount Kilimanjaro, delving deep into the Himalayas to Everest Basecamp or winding your way to Machu Picchu we want to see.
