Primary Science Teaching Trust

Primary Science Teaching Trust Our vision is to see excellent teaching of science in every primary classroom in the UK.

The PSTT meets its objective of improving the education of children and young people in science in the UK by providing financial assistance to improve teaching and learning of the subject. We fund innovative and cluster science teaching projects across the UK, at primary, transition (key stage 2/3) and secondary level. We also provide free resources in the form of Continuing Professional Developme

nt Units, lesson plans and other curriculum materials such as scientific inquiry assessment and assessing pupils progress. The Primary Science Teaching Trust, endowed by AstraZeneca PLC has been supporting schools and teachers in the UK since 1997.

We know primary science leadership is exciting...creating a vision for science across the school, supporting colleagues, seeing children engage with meaningful science learning and building something that grows over time.

Other parts can feel harder to navigate...monitoring, progression, assessment, action planning and balancing science alongside wider school priorities.

Effective Science Leadership has been designed to support all of it.

This new six-part webinar series will explore practical approaches, professional discussion and strategies that can be applied meaningfully in school.

Across the series, weโ€™ll explore:
๐Ÿงญ Leading primary science: Roles and responsibilities
๐Ÿชœ Curriculum and progression in primary science
๐Ÿ”Ž Monitoring science across your school
๐Ÿ“˜ Effective assessment in primary science
๐ŸŒฟ Enhancing and enriching primary science provision
๐Ÿค Supporting and leading your staff team

Designed for teachers new to science leadership, those developing confidence in the role and experienced leaders looking to refresh and strengthen their practice.

The first webinar takes place on 8 October 2026.
