Come and say hello to us at the Celebrate With Me Community Festival! 💚

On Saturday 20th June, the Julian Trust will be hosting a stall at the Celebrate With Me Community Festival in Page Park, Staple Hill, from 11am–4pm.

Celebrate With Me is a free community event bringing people together to celebrate the many cultures that make our community so special. There will be music, dance, wellbeing activities, community groups, stalls, and plenty to enjoy throughout the day.

We’ll be there sharing information about the work of the Julian Trust, chatting with members of the public, recruiting new volunteers, and collecting donations to help support our work with people experiencing homelessness.

Heads Together for Homelessness – Quiz Night! 💚🧠

Many of you will know Jack, who has been an incredible supporter of the Julian Trust over the last few years. From donating 100 sleeping bags to taking on his 10/10 Challenge to collect essential supplies for our guests, Jack has shown an extraordinary commitment to helping people experiencing homelessness.

Now he’s organising a fantastic Quiz Night to raise funds for the Julian Trust!

⏰ Quiz starts: 7:00pm

Expect a lively quiz, raffle, mini games, refreshments and a great atmosphere. Gather your friends and family and put your knowledge to the test – teams of up to 6.

On Wednesday evening, we were delighted to welcome the team from Lambert Smith Hampton as our guest cooks.

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to prepare and serve a fantastic meal for our guests. Your support helped create a warm, welcoming evening and was greatly appreciated by all.

🚨 PANTS EMERGENCY! 🚨

Our male underwear box is completely empty and we need your help to restock.

New or clean second-hand boxers (any size) are one of our most requested essentials, and right now we’re all out.

For many people experiencing homelessness, a clean pair of boxers is about far more than clothing. It’s about dignity, comfort and self-respect. We all deserve the chance to feel clean and comfortable, and something as simple as fresh underwear can make a real difference to someone’s day. 💚

If you can spare a pack or two, please drop them off at the shelter or send them our way.

On Tuesday evening, our Tuesday team served up fusili pasta with chicken meatballs, vegetarian goulash and green vegetables 🥬

One of the lovely things about the shelter is that each evening team prepares something different, offering a real variety of meals for our guests throughout the week.

A big thank you to the Tuesday evening team for preparing and serving another warm, filling meal for our guests.

Tonight our supervisors and kitchen leads came together to discuss the running of the shelter 🤝

These meetings are an important opportunity for us to share ideas, help bring consistency across the week, and raise any questions or concerns from our different teams. By working together, we can continue providing the best possible support for our guests.

We also had a refresher on our naloxone training, helping ensure volunteers feel confident and prepared to respond safely in an emergency situation.

Thank you to all of our volunteers for your continued care, commitment and teamwork in supporting the shelter each week.

Last night at the Julian Trust, our guests enjoyed a choice of hearty beef bolognese or bean bolognese, followed by rice pudding and fresh fruit salad 🍝

Last week, our volunteers took part in a PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression) training course delivered by AI Training & Consulting.

The course gave our team valuable skills and confidence in de-escalation, personal safety, and responding calmly and appropriately in challenging situations.

A huge thank you to Abu for delivering such an engaging and informative session, and to all of our volunteers for giving up their time to take part.

Training like this helps us continue providing a safe, supportive environment for both guests and volunteers at the Julian Trust.
