One25 Charity One25 reaches out to women who are street sex-working in Bristol. We support them to move from crisis and trauma towards independence in the community.

Last year, we worked with 271 women in Bristol. 165 women were safer from violence, 29 women exited street sex-work, 135 women were connected to specialist services and 81 women developed life skills and independence. We work non-judgementally and with unconditional love to build a relationship with each woman. The night outreach van meets women who are street sex-working, a daytime health hub offers a safe space and access to healthcare, and the casework team give one-to-one specialist support.

Yesterday, Phoebe and Abbie from Avon Breast Screening came to our hub with resources to share with the women about cancer and how to check themselves. It was great to learn from them and to see the women engaging with all the information πŸ’œ

At One25, we apply our trauma-informed approach to all aspects of our work. We are committed to improving the experience for those who need our support, but also the resilience of our staff. We understand how trauma can impact an individuals's life and ability to trust. We strive to minimise re-traumatisation and build trust by recognising each person's unique, non-linear journey and responding with flexibility and care 🩷

We want to recognise and celebrate people who are fully committed to being trauma-informed. so we've created our very own One25 Trauma Informed Practice Award (or TIPA for short!)

We will be presenting awards internally and externally to individuals, organisations and teams throughout the year, who we feel embody what it means to be trauma-informed!

Our first winner is our amazing Executive and Support Assistant Rowan, who created our new accessible One25 applicant guide! This guide helps prospective applicants understand more about what it's like to work at One25, and gives a detailed breakdown of what we're looking for in applications, as well as what to expect on interview day.

πŸ₯³ Congratulations Rowan! πŸ₯³

We will be announcing our next winner soon... πŸ‘€
