we thought we should make the best of todays fine weather and we did, even the lake was looking good :) main path trimmed, the harrow rediscovered, the lurve seat at the Bamford is again ready for romance :) the path off the tump path is now accessible again & graffiti gone and down at the lake the bench is again facing the lake, both viewing platforms have been repaired, graffiti cleaned, pebbles discovered, bench debrambled and the damage to the bridge reported and all this before tea!! Maria help yourself to what you asked, I think it sounds like a lovely idea and I hope it goes well.

I guess the more litter picked in 40 acres means less litter coming to the 3 Brooks!

bit of a mix at Green Gym today, Tina the Teacher bought down her class from Meadowbrook School, who were a pretty amazing bunch and can come back anytime. ⭐️⭐️ Neil repaired one of our garden forks so earned a 2nd wagon wheel :) Some tackled the bramble and nettles on the school path while others took down parts of a tree whose overhanging branches had died off, we're not sure if the bark damage caused the branch to die or if it peeled off afterwards but either way we didn't want it dropping on anyone. we also cleared the ditch of debris and logs. There is a rope swing there and I felt that if anyone fell off I would rather they fell onto earth rather than a jumble of logs, better a bruise than a break! Also met a writer (Yasmin) and someone from SGC looking for our welcome signs, we think the phrase 'good luck with that, they went years ago' was the most appropriate. I can remember 3, Paul thinks there may have been 4, anyone else got a clue?

was down at Sherbourne's brake today and noticed that we have a horse chestnut tree but it hasn't produced a single conker as no other horse chestnuts close by to fertilize it. If I'd seen it last week I would have planted the 2 new conkers down there. wondering about moving one unless anyone has a tall conker that needs rehoming?

I can't work out if this is reasonably clever vandalism or if it's a subtle protest about the state of our lake :)

well that didn't take long, except the bits I had been told I could keep were on the back of their van and the other bits are now on the wrong side of the brook! ho hum.
