Bristol Volunteers for Development Abroad is a student-run registered charity and recognised society of the University of Bristol Students' Union.

Aims:

i) Work in partnership with communities and grassroots organisations. We deliver sustainable development including education, capacity-building, water, sanitation and health

ii) Provide a platform for a meaningful discussion around international development

iii) Give students the opportunity to develop skills for the future through international volunteering, empowering them to become active citizens

Bristol Volunteers for Development Abroad, BVDA, are looking to send a number of UoB students on an amazing volunteering opportunity in August 2025. Our partner this year is Maya Universe Academy in Nepal who offer schooling opportunities to those who cannot afford it, and we are hoping you will join us on this amazing once in a lifetime adventure. Volunteer with us in Nepal this summer!

We are excited to begin recruiting volunteers for our summer project in partnership with PSD Nepal. Previous volunteers have described their Nepal experience as a "most incredible adventure" so apply now!

No previous volunteering experience is required and training is provided within the project costs, which BVDA will help you fundraise. Check out our website and recorded Information Talk for more information.

Join us for our online Information Talk on November 11th at 10 am!

Come along to find out about BVDA and our volunteering project in Nepal! This is a great opportunity for those wanting to volunteer abroad this summer. We are also recruiting committee members so come meet our current committee and ask questions. The meeting link will be sent via our mailing list and will be posted on our website (Events page) so keep an eye out for that.

We'll be holding our first Information Talk on October 19th at 5pm in Physics Building, room 3.34.

Come along to learn more about BVDA and our projects as well as meet our committee! We hope to see many of you, whether you are interested in volunteering with us this summer or if you want to join our committee. Afterwards, we will head to the Berkeley for our first social!
