Fancy trying something new in 2026? We are recruiting for a new intake at the start of February! If your child is looking for adventure, confidence, teamwork and fun — Sea Cadets could be for them. We have spaces in both our central Bristol (Avonquay) and Brislington locations, all cadets will get opportunities to take part in activities from first aid, engineering, rowing, sailing and much more!

We’re welcoming new Junior, Senior and Royal Marines Cadets in February!

🔹 Senior Cadets (Ages 12–17)
• Attend twice per week (Avonquay - Tuesdays & Fridays or Brislington - Tuesdays & Thursdays 7pm to 9.30pm)
🔹 Junior Cadets (Ages 10–11)
• Attend 1 night per week (Tuesdays 7pm to 9pm – same day & time at Avonquay and Brislington)
🔹 Marine Cadets (Ages 13–17)
• Attend twice per week (Avonquay - Monday & Fridays 7pm to 9.30pm)

Don’t panic, this is not a mass casualty event at Bristol Adventure, just the end of a successful Intermediate First Aid course over the weekend.

It is with great sadness we have to share the news that Lt (SCC) Barbara Hillier has passed away this week. She retired from Sea Cadets last year, after many decades of service both with our unit and previously as Commanding Officer of Avonmouth Sea Cadets.

Barbara was truly a shining light, a hugely dedicated volunteer who was always bursting with enthusiasm and positivity about everything she did with Sea Cadets and life in general. She was a great role model, who saw the best in everyone and worked hard to help both cadets and adult volunteers in countless ways.

We send out our heartfelt condolences to all of Barbara's family at this difficult time and know that there are so many others across the Sea Cadet Corps and beyond who will miss her dearly.

Rest in Peace Ma'am.
