Earlier today, we held a community workshop focused on tackling Islamophobia and racism in a safe and inclusive space.

The session provided valuable insight into the impact of discrimination and shared practical ways we can all challenge prejudice and promote understanding. The discussion also highlighted the importance of reporting incidents and seeking support from others.

It was inspiring to see participants openly sharing their experiences, asking questions, and supporting one another. Creating spaces like this helps build awareness, strengthen community connections, and encourage positive change.

A big thank you to Black South West Network for supporting this important initiative πŸ™

We also extend our sincere thanks to Jasmine Tippett for expertly facilitating the discussion and helping create such an open and respectful space.

Another day, another death on our street. Our community is hurting deeply.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and everyone affected by this tragic loss.

Our community works very hard and does not want to see this happen again.
Now more than ever, we need to stay together, support one another, and protect our community .

We are pleased to share the successful completion of our Men’s Community Cooking Class programme.

Throughout the programme, participants learned practical skills in food preparation, cooking, and baking, as well as healthy eating and food safety. The sessions were hands-on and supportive, helping participants build confidence and independence in the kitchen.

Just as importantly, the programme created a welcoming space where men could connect, make new friends, and learn from one another. Participants shared experiences, gained a better understanding of different cultures, and felt more connected to the wider community.

We are incredibly proud of everyone who took part. A huge thank you to our amazing chefs, Negat Hussein and Umayma, and to our dedicated volunteers who helped make this programme such a success. We are also very grateful to our funders, Feeding Bristol and Dandara Living, for their generous support.

Thank you to everyone involved πŸ’™

day, our HAF holiday baking session was a huge success! The children and young people were full of energy and excitement from the moment they arrived. Everyone rolled up their sleeves and got hands-on, learning new creative skills while working together in the kitchen.

They baked delicious pizzas and fluffy waffles, and even prepared a colorful fruit salad, enjoying every step of the process. It was amazing to see them collaborating, experimenting, and supporting each other as they cooked.

After all the baking, they sat down to enjoy a healthy meal with water, celebrating their hard work and tasty creations. The laughter, smiles, and teamwork throughout the session made it a truly memorable day.

A big well done to all the children and young people who joined us today β€” your enthusiasm and creativity made this HAF holiday session so special! πŸ₯³πŸ’› Thank you Hussein
