Did you catch our Be Kind event last week as part of Bristol Refugee Festival ?

Co-created and co-delivered by people with lived experience, Be Kind was a gorgeous day celebrating the huge spectrum of cultural traditions that make up the fabric of Bristol!

The event also brought together music and art workshops, a curated programme of international films, practical support from local organisations, and inspiring live performances from artists with refugee and asylum-seeker experience.

We were also proud to launch our new Instrument Library, giving refugees and asylum seekers the opportunity to borrow an instrument of their choice for free.

This week, we’re proud to be part of .
Loneliness is a natural human emotion and something many of us experience but don’t always talk about.

Being creative with others, whether it’s through music-making, dancing, film-making or crafting, are all fantastic ways to build connections.

This year we are so excited to launch the All Together Now programme, a flagship multi-year project across the West of England that will address loneliness through the arts.

Whether you’re interested in volunteering, or getting involved as an artist or creative practitioner, there are plenty of ways to get stuck in.

Currently, we're funding inspiring creative projects and activities in the six pilot communities of interest and inviting applications from artists, groups and organisations.

''How can a young person know whether they are a musician, unless they experience it in the classroom with their peers?” - Laurie Stewart, Head of Creative Learning

This week we welcomed hundreds of primary school children from our Earthsong programme, to perform their end of year celebration events.

The Earthsong programme is the only one of its kind in the UK, offering a 5 years of free music education to 13 Bristol primary schools in disadvantaged areas, or where English is a second language.

A huge thank you to the Earthsong Foundation for enabling this life-changing work.

As part of this year’s Care Leavers Showcase, Kiki captivated audiences with her honest songwriting and beautifully intimate performance.

The showcase marked the start of We Care Week, a celebration of the creativity, resilience and voices of care-experienced young people.

Hear Kiki talk about her relationship with music, and how it helps her connect with herself, her emotions and those around her.
