This group of incredible emerging filmmakers are going to be pitching their dream natural world film projects in front of a LIVE audience to our top industry experts, leading comissioners and senior executives.

Not only do these candidates get the experience of live film pitching and feedback, but thanks to an incredibly kind donation WildPitch has an overall prize pot of £15,000! The top two projects will receive the following funding to help bring their films to the screen:

Join us for an evening of nature, music & community 🎤🪼

Fresh from London's theatre district and the United Nations General Assembly, critically acclaimed music artist, actress and diver EM The Master brings her bold show, DIVE, live at the Bath Pavillion, on Tuesday 20th October as part of Wildscreen Festival 2026. DIVE is a one woman multi-rolling musical extravaganza blending sharp comedy, storytelling, music and theatre. Em brings the ocean to life on stage, quirkily personifying the creatures she’s had the pleasure of interacting with.

The show celebrates the ocean’s marvels, explores the challenges it faces, and questions how we can harness our individual power to give back to this essential ecosystem. Featuring an array of striking originals plus some reimagined classics, DIVE is a show for ocean lovers and theatregoers alike. Quirky, humorous, powerful, and full of heart… much like the sea.

We’re working with Finisterre to recruit a Social Media & Marketing Trainee to join their team and gain hands-on experience telling environmental stories through social media and marketing. From short-form video and photography to copywriting and campaigns, you’ll help share stories about sustainability, people, communities and the coastlines and oceans that inspire the brand.

We’re excited to announce the premiere of the Panda Award Nominated documentary ‘Nature Ain’t A Luxury’ at WSF26! 🌳

Nature Ain’t A Luxury, directed and presented by Louis VI in partnership with The Wildlife Trusts with support from Doc Society, follows a journey of Louis VI, a Musician & Zoologist, taking his friends to see if they can reconnect to nature through wild encounters in the UK. The film explores why so many young people, particularly from black, brown & lower economic communities, have been historically, and continually made to feel excluded from nature.

Louis’ directorial debut takes us from swimming with Seals, getting lost on the moors, stargazing and more, the film is rooted in black joy, humour, the very real challenges to access and the much needed the mental health benefits of reconnecting to the land after troubling times, because Nature ain’t a luxury, it’s a necessity.

Introducing another of our brilliant Wildscreen Trainees! 🎉

Alena is a film studies graduate from UWE Bristol who is building a career in filmmaking and events. Since graduating, she has been creating promotional short films for conservation charities and community projects and has worked with the UK DFC and at several film festivals. She has joined Wildscreen as our Film and Events Trainee, helping to promote, organise and deliver the festival 🎥✨
