Doing something creative with others has proven to take people’s minds away from the stress of the world.
Just being with peers who are supportive, where you can chat or just be silent together, and simply being in the same space doing the same things can help curb loneliness.
Our Engagement Activity Team recently visited ‘Flying Saucers’, where young people took part in a calm and contemplative creative session.
One young person reflected:
“Loneliness doesn’t always mean you’re alone. It can mean being so involved in other people’s lives that you forget to take time for yourself, and this can make you feel lonely. It’s really important to take time for you and enjoy it.”
