"When we casually tell parents to 'push harder', 'escalate', 'complain' or 'fight the system', we are assuming everyone has the same level of safety in doing so. They do not."

Bridget Phillipson is hell-bent on pushing the ideology of “inclusive education” as though it is the answer for every child.

But inclusion comes at a cost. Not just financially, but for some children with SEND, it can come at the cost of their education, mental health, confidence and self-esteem.

We believe that for some children, the whole concept of “inclusive education” is actually their biggest barrier to learning and emotional wellbeing. One size does not fit all.

Every child deserves an education that meets their individual needs. For some, that means a mainstream classroom. For others, it means a specialist setting where they can feel safe, supported, understood and able to thrive.

True inclusion is about providing the right education for each child—not forcing every child into the same system.

NEW POST: Far from Bridget Philippson's claims that children in special schools are isolated and lack belonging, research from BeeWell has shown their self-esteem is higher than those with SEN in mainstream https://www.specialneedsjungle.com/research-children-special-schools-report-higher-self-esteem-than-sen-mainstream/
