A great fundraising weekend.

We had a great fundraising weekend, first our annual plant sale on Sat 9th May, then as finish line marshalls for the Great Bristol Run on Sat 10th. Big thanks to all those who supported us, this money will go towards finishing our new community hall.

Volunteer Parents and Trustees Paint new Scout Community Hall!
----
In between Christmas and New Year an enthusiastic team of volunteers came together to spend two full days painting.

Their mission was to save money by painting the internal breeze blocks in the bathrooms of our new Scout Community Hall currently being built.

It was a great team effort with the equivalent of 12 man days of free time donated and 80 litres of paint applied!

There is still work to be done to be able to open the Hall doors for public use. We still need essential funds so if you can donate or would like to join our buy-a-brick campaign please visit www.43rdbristolscouts.org.uk

We are delighted to share that one of Cubs, Oliver Price, has been awarded the Chief Scout’s Silver Award.

This is the highest award a Cub can earn. To complete it a Cub has to earn six Activity or Staged Activity Badges, as well as all seven of the Challenge Awards.

Presenting him with the award Charles Elderton, Chair of the Group, said

“Earning this award shows that Oliver is prepared to give new things a go, is a team player, and can stick it out even when the going gets tough. It’s a really big achievement. We are very proud of him. Oliver is now looking forward to moving up to Scouts. We wish him all the best”
