Wonderful 24 hours at the Invest in ME Research Charity Conference!

Thanks so much to Richard, Pia and Kathleen for inviting us up to stay and see some amazing talks from the world's best scientists and researchers.

So good to see so many countries represented talking through their trials and findings. I met some very inspiring people -there's no doubt that the people there are working incredibly hard to find a cure.

Congratulations to everyone at Invest In Me for putting on an incredible programme.

Great call with Helga and Asta from ME félag Íslands yesterday.

We're working on some exciting plans to raise awareness in Iceland on my visit. They have a few runners in Reykjavíkurmaraþon Íslandsbanka and its going to be great to meet some of them at the race registration and dinner.

I'm going to be interviewing patients for my usual awareness blog and hope to share soon.

Also looking forward to meeting 2 other members of their team at the Invest in ME Research Charity conference next Friday!

European Country 35 (marathon 39 for Invest in ME Research Charity)

Back at work and recovering slowly after Sarajevo Marathon on Sunday 🇧🇦

Thanks to everyone for all the messages and sponsorship. Around £700 raised for Invest in ME Research Charity and now up to £53k from 39 marathons in 35 countries 🇪🇺

Bosnia is a wonderful place and I can't wait to go back one day.

Bosnia ✅️
European Country 35.

Great little race with parks, mountain backdrop and a whole lot of dual carriageway. Not quick today but delighted to finish in one piece. Saw some goats!

Day 2 in Bosnia 🇧🇦

Early bus back to Sarajevo was very picturesque then took the cable car up Mount Trebevic to see the derelict 1984 Winter Olympics bobsled track.

Sarajevo is such an interesting place with a rich culture and interesting past. I've tried not to walk too far today but there's just so much to see.

The race starts at 8am (about 35 min walk) and it'll be 12c rising to 23c towards the end. I'm expecting it to be pretty hard and I need to be careful of the 5hr cut off.

Day 1 in Bosnia 🇧🇦

Ryanair had a plane fault but luckily they had a spare plane and I arrived in Sarajevo late last night.

Got the 7am train to Mostar and a half day trip to Kravice Waterfalls.

Early days but this place could end up in my top 10. Its pretty hot here (23c) but luckily there's a big cold lake to jump in.
