Bluebell Care

Bluebell Care Ruth founded the charity with Anna Thompson, Bluebell's Project Manager and a group of parents with lived experience and health professionals.

Bluebell is a charity based in Bristol, offering a range of mental health & emotional wellbeing support for parents & infants, during pregnancy and up to 2 years after birth in Bristol, South Glos, North Somerset, Bath & NE Somerset & South Devon. Bluebell Care was founded in Bristol in June 2010, by Ruth Jackson, a mother from Bristol who experienced perinatal mental health difficulties when she

had her two daughters. Bluebell Care now delivers services for mums, dads, partners and infants experiencing depression related to pregnancy and birth across Bristol, South Glos and South Devon which include therapeutic groups, one to one support in the community and a wellbeing hub, Bluebell Place, in Bristol city centre. Over 1 in 7 parents in the UK are affected by anxiety and depression related to pregnancy and birth and yet there is still very little specialist community support available. Bluebell provides support on weekdays, between 10am and 3pm with a Buddy service, therapeutic groups, peer-to-peer support, targeted advice, and a specialist service for Dads & partners.
