Founded in 1976, BISC (Bristol International Student Centre) provides a home away from home to ALL international students, their family and friends. We promote international understanding and multicultural exchange in the

Dear BISC Student Volunteers,

This week is International Volunteers' Week, and at this special time, we want to say one thing to you: Thank you!

The year 2026 marks the 50th anniversary of BISC. The glory of this half-century has been made even more brilliant and dazzling because of you — our youthful, energetic volunteers.

We know that every minute you've dedicated to volunteering has been "squeezed out" of your already demanding academic schedules. Thank you for giving up rest and leisure time, choosing instead to pour your passion and energy into every corner of BISC. Whether it was setting up event spaces, greeting others with a warm smile, or working quietly behind the scenes — each of these countless small moments has come together to form the most touching memories of BISC's 50th anniversary.

At 50 years old, BISC remains vibrant and full of life — because of you, who are just in your teens and twenties.

Once again, thank you all. You have worked so hard! We wish you a Volunteers' Week filled with joy and a deep sense of appreciation.

Come and celebrate BISC’s 50th anniversary with us on Saturday 23 May 2026!

We’re excited to be celebrating 50 years of serving international students in Bristol!

On Saturday 23 May, we will be holding an International Service of Christian Thanksgiving and Celebration at 2.30pm at Woodlands Church. Our guest speaker will be Patrick Regan, OBE, author and wellbeing campaigner. Everyone is welcome, there is no charge but please book your free ticket so we can manage numbers.

From 5pm till 8.30 pm, we will hold an international hot buffet and Ceilidh, to celebrate and raise important funds for BISC’s future work.

Originating from Northern China, where wheat-based noodles have been a staple for over 4,000 years, Chinese noodles are all about comfort, warmth, and rich flavours. Think silky noodles tossed in savoury sauce, topped with aromatic spices — a true taste of tradition.
