JOB: TWO OUTDOOR THERAPISTS

Venture Trust is seeking two part‑time Outdoor Therapists (18.75 hours per week) to deliver therapeutic outdoor programmes across the Greater Glasgow area.

One role will be a 2‑year fixed‑term contract, while the second role will be a 1‑year fixed‑term contract.

Both of these roles involve working with veterans experiencing complex life circumstances, including trauma, transition, and mental health challenges. You will deliver Outdoor Therapy to help clients move forward in meaningful ways, primarily in urban greenspaces and occasionally online through individual therapeutic sessions focused on reflection and exploration.

This is a coaching and pastoral role delivered in the outdoors, meaning you will demonstrate a real passion for transforming the lives of vulnerable young people whilst taking part in all outdoor adventure activities. Adventure is an exhilarating and impactful vehicle for personal change, but the real magic of the programme lies in high-quality, trusting relationships and vulnerable conversations you will build. Charity Challenge organise over 100 expeditions each year and are well known for Kilimanjaro climbs (including the 2009 Celebrity Climb for Comic Relief). We run treks, bike rides, mountain climbs, rafting and dog sledding in over 30 countries worldwide and routinely take doctors on our trips.

We are looking for fully registered Doctors, post FY2, ideally with experience at high altitude and with some training in, or direct experience of, expedition medicine.
We will cover all your costs except for your indemnity insurance cover.
