Education has always been at the heart of our organisation.
Yet, when we look back on the journey we have shared over the years, our greatest achievement is not only measured in courses delivered or skills taught.

It is the trust, friendship, and partnership we have built with our colleagues in Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital - NTRH - LHS Nanyuki

Together, we have faced challenges, celebrated successes, learned from one another, and supported each other through both the difficult and rewarding moments.
What began as a professional collaboration has grown into something far more meaningful.

Today, we stand side by side, united by a shared vision and a common purpose: improving emergency care and creating a better future for the communities we serve.
We are proud of what we have achieved together, and even more excited about what lies ahead.

This spring has been a season of real collaboration and impact 🌿
Thanks to the incredible efforts of the Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital - NTRH - LHS Nanyuki SIM facilitators, alongside the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust fellows working with Dharura, we’ve delivered specialist training to a wide range of healthcare professionals across the Laikipia region.

It’s genuinely rewarding to see how positively the teaching has been received — and even more so to witness the tangible difference it’s making for communities in Nanyuki and the surrounding areas.
Moments like these remind us why this work matters.
We’re excited to keep building on this momentum and can’t wait to see what the summer will bring ☀️

Behind every triage decision is a trained professional making critical judgments under pressure to protect lives and improve outcomes.

🌍 Nyahururu - Nanyuki and Cornwall ❤️

This week marks another important step in the growing partnership between the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust Emergency Department and Nyahururu County Hospital, working together to strengthen emergency care through collaboration, mentorship, and exchange.

🧑🏼‍🤝‍🧑🏾👩🏼‍🤝‍👩🏾This week a group of professionals from Nyahururu - Juliet, Simon and Grace - joined by a team from the Royal Cornwall ED - Caitlin, Faheeem, Lucy, Joy and Anna- travelled to Nanyuki, to meet the Nanyuki SIM team led by Rose and the Dharura fellows Maddie, Livi and Jack currently on their 10 weeks deployment.

One of the most powerful moments was a session on breaking bad news and caring for ourselves as well as our patients, led by Sheila, psychologist from Nanyuki — a reminder that compassion, communication, and wellbeing sit at the heart of emergency care everywhere.

This has been a true two-way exchange.
"We’ve learnt so much from each other and will be taking back lessons on gratefulness, psychological safety, and the use of a SIM contract into our simulation debriefs in the UK."
Our Royal Cornwall team are " incredibly proud of the Nyahururu team, who have made huge progress this week through the mentorship and support of the Nanyuki team."

🌍 Training Highlight | Rural Teaching Day at Lewa Conservancy Clinic 🌍

We had a fantastic day of learning and collaboration with the Dharura Fellows and Nanyuki Sim Team during our rural teaching day at Lewa Conservancy Clinic.

The focus of the session was paediatric shock, with in-depth discussions on:
• Hypovolaemic shock in the malnourished child
• Septic shock

There was a great turnout, strong engagement, and valuable shared learning throughout the day — making it a truly rewarding experience for everyone involved.

A huge thank you to for hosting and supporting this important training. 👏
An excellent day overall, strengthening skills and improving care for our most vulnerable patients.
