So far this year...

The BT Benevolent Fund provided significant support during the third quarter of 2026, assisting 66 beneficiaries through one-off grants and maintaining weekly grant payments to 100 BT pensioners with very limited incomes. Thirty of the grant applications came from current BT employees, and a total of £178,000 was awarded during the quarter.

We can only help those in need because of the generosity of our donors, so huge thanks to everyone that contributes to the Fund.

Christmas Cards

They are just £4 for a pack of 10 and all proceeds are used to help our BT colleagues, past and present, who are suffering financial hardship.

So far this year...

In the second quarter of 2026 the BT Benevolent Fund dealt with 73 one-off requests for help, as well as continuing to pay weekly grants to 103 BT pensioners on very low incomes. Forty three of our cases came from current BT employees and in all we awarded grants of over £187,000.

Help during Mental Health Awareness Week

James works in a BT call centre and is married with 2 children. He suffers with PTSD following time spent in the military and also suffers with anxiety and depression. He took some time off to focus on his mental health but fell into rent arrears which he was struggling to pay. James and his wife were already struggling with childcare costs and general living costs, so the rent arrears were adding even more pressure whilst taking a toll on James’s mental health. James contacted the BT Benevolent Fund via BT’s Employee Assistance Programme and we were able to clear the rent arrears and award a small grant towards living costs. This was a huge relief to James who is now thriving back at work.

It's Mental Health Awareness Week and the Mental Health Foundation reminds us that “Even small actions can help us feel hopeful and less powerless. And while our individual actions matter, when we come together we are even more powerful.”
