A heartfelt thank you to Charles and Ashirwatham for their persistence and dedication in bringing actor Sasi Kumar to our home. Your efforts and engagement truly made the day special for everyone.

Threads of Change 🧵✨
After six months of learning, growth, and determination, 25 women graduated from Thriving Roots’ tailoring program - gaining skills, confidence, and a pathway to independence. Each graduate received a certificate and a tailoring kit to begin her journey toward self‑reliance.
Made possible with the support of Goodwill UK & France, this milestone marks not just an ending, but the beginning of 25 empowered futures. 💛

🌱 A New Beginning for Goodwill India 🌱

We’re delighted to share a meaningful milestone in our journey toward community empowerment and sustainability.

Goodwill India (Thriving Roots) has successfully exported a select batch of beautifully handcrafted wired bags to Goodwill France.

These unique creations are the work of talented village women who recently completed a six-month tailoring training programme. In their leisure time, they poured creativity and care into crafting these bags, turning newly learned skills into something truly special.

✨ This initiative is about more than just products:
• It creates opportunities for women to earn an income
• It builds confidence and independence
• It showcases their incredible talent to a global audience

The bags will be marketed and sold by Goodwill France, with proceeds returned to Goodwill India, directly benefiting the women behind this inspiring work.

While this is a small beginning, it represents a powerful step toward sustainable livelihoods for rural women. We hope this will grow into a strong and lasting collaboration in the years ahead.

Together, we move closer to a future where women are empowered with skills, dignity, and economic independence. 💛

Today, we celebrate the birthday of Kalyanasundaram, President of the Indian Executive Committee and a former Goodwill Children’s Homes student.
Born in Sitharevu and raised at our Thandigudi Home from age ten, his journey from orphaned village boy to respected leader is truly inspiring.
To mark his special day, he generously donated so the children at Thandigudi could celebrate together.
His vision for Goodwill is one of stability, sustainability, and unity — building a brighter future for generations to come.

Today, the children at our Goodwill Primary School received drawing books, pencils, crayons, colour pencils, and erasers, generously donated by the White Socks Estate, Pullaveli and distributed by Venture Trust, Pudukottai.

These gifts will support the children’s learning and spark their creativity. We are grateful for this thoughtful contribution to the children’s education and well-being.

🎶 Music sparks joy at Goodwill Children’s Home, Thandigudi 🎶

Today, Mr Princely and Rev Daniel from Madurai visited the Goodwill Children’s Home to introduce the children to the basics of music.

With a guitar and parai drum already at the Home, the visitors made the session even more special by donating two sets of small drums, giving the children hands-on experience with different instruments.

The children were grouped by interest and took part in lively, practical music sessions filled with rhythm, curiosity, and joy. Many are now excited to begin their musical journey! 🎸🥁

Goodwill Children's Homes Charitable Society were also delighted that Mr Princely and Rev Daniel have promised to bring a piano and more instruments soon, helping expand the children’s exposure to music.

A heartfelt thank you to Rev R. Immanuvel Arunraj, Secretary, for initiating these music classes, nurturing creativity, confidence, and holistic development in our children. 💛

Did you know that your used postage stamps can help transform children’s lives?
At Goodwill Children's Homes, we recycle donated stamps and exchange them for cash, raising vital funds to support our work with children in South India.
✨ What We Need
We collect British and Overseas stamps (Jersey, Guernsey, Eire and Isle of Man count as overseas). The value of the stamp doesn’t matter - every stamp helps!
💷 Did you know?
We can raise around £20 per kilogram of stamps. It’s such an easy way to support us!
✂️ How to Prepare Your Stamps
• Cut the stamp from the envelope, leaving about 1cm of paper around the edge
• Separate into British and Overseas if possible
• Pop them into an envelope and send them to us!

On 26 January, the Goodwill family came together in pride and celebration. Former Goodwill children, now pursuing higher education, returned home to receive financial support for the 2025–2026 academic year. This year, 62 students across a range of higher education courses were supported, made possible through the generous sponsorships and grants from the UK. Together, this support represents a powerful moment of hope, progress, and shared achievement.
