A birthday celebration filled with ideas, making and time with friends. Take a look at our party options for ages 6- 13…

🏰 Construction – build castles, tree houses or imaginative creatures.
📿 Jewellery – design and make something special to wear.
🎨 Watercolours – experiment with painting and drawing to create an artwork to treasure.

Our art parties have had a refresh! Here’s a peek at the colourful making and playful exploring on offer for ages 2–6…

🐳 Ocean Crafts – create sea creatures and explore our playful rock pool.
🌈 Rainbow Crafts – cut, stick and layer a rainbow bursting with colour.
🐢 Reptile Crafts – make colourful turtles, dragons and reptiles.
🧪 Slime – mix, stretch and squish your own creation, suitable for ages 4–13.

🍂 Patterns in Nature at St George’s Bristol 🐚

Join Goldfinch Create & Play for a family art workshop as part of St George's Bristol Nature Reconnect programme!

Create a large ammonite-inspired artwork filled with spirals, textures and patterns, then make colourful mosaic-style feathers. We’ll explore leaves, wool, coloured paper, oil pastels and more, with plenty of space for everyone’s own ideas.

Bring a few small fallen natural treasures from the grounds on your way in to add to your artwork! 🍁

There’ll also be a toddler area with stamping, stencils and plasticine play.

✨ Make your own stained-glass watercolour cards 🎨

A simple little art project with a bit of magic when you hold it up to the light! ☀️

We’ve combined colourful tissue paper, watercolours and soft pastels to make these bright, layered cards. Swipe through to see how to make your own →

You’ll need:
🎨 Watercolour paper or thick card
🌈 Coloured tissue paper
✂️ Scissors
🤍 Clear sticky-back plastic / transparent film
🖌️ Watercolours
🖍️ Soft pastels or oil pastels

Start by cutting a simple window into your folded card – try a circle, flower or your own shape. We love hole punches for super crisp shapes. Cover the opening with clear sticky-back plastic, then layer small pieces of tissue paper across it, overlapping the colours as you go. A few dried flowers would look great too.

✨ Then add loose watercolour washes and pastel marks around your window. There’s no need to make it too perfect – experiment with colour, shapes and marks and let each card turn out differently.

The best bit? Hold your finished card up to a sunny window and watch the light shine through all those layers of colour. 🌈☀️

Save this one for a rainy-day art project, or send it to someone special when you’re finished. 💛

When you think watercolours, you might think 2D… not .createandplay ! 🌊🎨

This week at Kids Art Club, our young artists have been transforming watercolour paintings into 3D ocean worlds, using drawing, collage, looping paper, texture and construction to bring their ideas off the page.

From waves and sea creatures to mermaids and underwater scenes, every piece has been completely unique, full of colour, movement and imagination.
Painting, making, building and experimenting, just a typical afternoon at Goldfinch. ✨

🎨 Our Art Parties have had a refresh! ✨

We’re very excited to share our new-look Goldfinch Art Parties, launching this autumn!

We’ve refreshed our party themes with lots of new creative ideas, materials and makes for children aged 2–13. Think colourful collage, construction, watercolours, jewellery making, sensory play, slime and plenty of experimenting along the way.

From ocean and rainbow crafts to reptiles, construction and slime, each party has been designed to give children the freedom to explore materials, make their own creative choices and leave with something that feels completely their own.

Because at Goldfinch, we don’t think 15 finished pieces of art should all look the same. 💛

Our parties are playful, relaxed and a little bit messy, just as making art should be!

We’re back to term time kids art clubs! 🎨✨

Kids Art Club returned this week with **watercolours**, and we loved hearing everyone share stories of their summer holiday adventures as they got creative together. ☀️🌊⛰️

At Goldfinch, we might introduce a theme, technique or idea to get things started, but children are always free to take their artwork in their own direction…and we love seeing where their imaginations lead them. 💛

And on that note… **can you spot the puppet?** 👀
