Some of our valued donators may have noticed that when dropping off your donations, our staff and volunteers will ask if you are a “gift aider.
In these days where every penny raised matters, all charities rely on gift aid to boost the funds necessary to continue their valuable work.
To help our donators understand how gift aid works, at no cost to themselves, here’s a basic description.
“Gift Aid is a UK government scheme that allows charities to claim an extra 25p from HMRC for every £1 raised from items you donate, at no extra cost to you. It boosts donations by 25% using tax you have already paid, provided you are a UK taxpayer.”
It takes two minutes to sign up as a gift aider but the effects of the extra funds raised can help change the lives of the children of the UK.
