In all the clamorous cultural NOISE about neurodiversity at the moment, yet again it's a small grassroots community organisation on a tight budget just quietly cracking on with solutions rather than endlessly discussing the 'problem'.

Love this from the amazing WayMakers Devon team, who've truly listened to their community, spotted the gap and filled it elegantly and robustly 👏👏👏

Such a valuable co-created tool to compassionately unpick difficulties. Lovely to see the shift to shared problem-solving rather than expecting highly-stressed young people to come up with answers to things that possibly no one fully understands.

And, honestly, an absolute bargain - WayMakers are a not for profit, so any income goes back into their services for young people👏💜🔥

🌳 The Meadow outdoor holiday club - 24th-25th August, near Bath 🍃

We wanted to give a shout out to our fabulous friends at The Meadow, a consent-based, self-directed learning community in Turley, outside Bath. It's a lovely chilled space during term time for young people not attending school.

Over the summer The Meadow CIC team are running a couple of Holiday Club sessions at their Otter Brook woodland site at the end of August if you're interested in seeing what it's all about.

We love their consent-based approach - the team is lovely, neurodiverse and affirming, and really supportive of young people who particularly value their autonomy.

For ethnically diverse young people aged 13 to 16 ⭐

Join us for a relaxed space to make food, play games, and connect with new people. There’ll be a chance to share what’s on your mind too, write down topics you’re interested in chatting about and we’ll randomly pick some to discuss together.

This is your space to use however you like: chill, talk, laugh, and meet other young people in a welcoming environment.
