🏛️ Say hello to Ashton Court Mansion.

This is the view that greets you as you approach the West entrance - Gothic arches, hundreds of years of history, and that extraordinary yellow facade glowing against a Bristol sky (although currently a bit worse for wear).

This building has hosted events and welcomed visitors for years. But we want to take that further - to make the mansion itself feel as open and inviting as it can.

More events. More community programming. More reasons to visit. A place where Bristol comes to gather, create, learn and celebrate - inside these walls, not just in the grounds.

This building has always been remarkable. We just want more people to experience it for themselves. Follow our journey as we work to make it happen.

So much has been happening at Ashton Court in the past few months! Repairs have been made and the downstairs has been decorated. Now it’s ready for events like weddings!

The trickier part will be tackling the derelict parts not usually seen by the public but of course that takes funding. And we now have a just giving page! Please give generously to save this much loved Bristol landmark!

🔥 This is what we're working with.

This is the Billiard Room in the north west wing of Ashton Court Mansion. In 2013 a fire tore through this part of the building. Over a decade later, you can still read every moment of it on the walls.

Peeling plasterwork. Scorched stone. And that ceiling - still extraordinary beneath everything it's been through.

This wing is the most damaged part of the mansion and will be one of the toughest areas we restore. It will take years and significant investment to get there.

But when we do? This room will be something truly special. A space for Bristol to gather, celebrate and make memories in one of the most remarkable buildings in the South West.

That's what we're working towards - we've still got a long way to go before we have secured the long-term lease on this building but every share, every follow and every person who joins this community brings us a little closer.

Yesterday was the last day of the stewardship of Artspace Lifespace at the mansion. Today Bristol Historic Buildings Trust take over. There’s more information about them on their website.
We at friends of Ashton Court Mansion have cherished the contribution of Artspace to the history of the mansion and look forward to a new future with BHBT.
