Today's thought...
And it's obvious, and controversial.
We talk about not all men and male allies...and how men need to step up and check each other, and male feminists need to talk to other men and get them to understand that women are Humans too..
Because...
Men only listen to other men? Men don't scare other men?.
Men take judgement better from men?
Men should hear women.
We need a woman coaching the man's national rugby team.
We need a woman coaching the men's national football team
We need women leaders who are not tick box puppets to their party's lack of respectability, or leaders who are not reduced to the being commented on for their fashion sense.
We need men to LISTEN to women, and genuinely respect and think through what is being said.
It's worth at this point remembering that as long as men are told to think.... in the words of Jimmy Saville....yes...hear me out..." Women are different, they're a bit brain damaged" ( from the famous Louis Theroux interview) we are still paddling with one oar only.
Men don't just need to respect their daughters, their wives, their mothers, their sisters, they need to respect all womanly humans everywhere.
Because we are sick to death of begging for human rights from our different places on the ladder in accordance to class, colour or creed, or some stupid perception of what makes a woman anyhow.
