When a man says " There you go again, getting all emotional" tell them that you find it disappointing that they don't get emotional enough about the topic you're discussing. They obviously do not respect the theme of the conversation enough.

Big thanks to Recovery Festival yesterday for having me along.
Wonderful to have great conversations with fantastic women about the basics of Self Defence...which if you hadn't realised, is understanding that when our instincts get pinged by something/someone, it's normally a sign of boundaries being broken or at least tested.
And our instincts are never wrong.
And no action that we take in that moment... especially the ones that we blame ourselves for not being " good enough" are ever wrong.
We make the decisions we make in the moment under the pressures that find us.

Next time a man asks you a question that feels really inappropriate, feel free to ask one back.
My favourite is " What's the capital of Outer Mongolia?"
When they ask what the hell that's got to do with anything, simply say " Exactly".

Seriously though, asking inappropriate questions is a way of testing a boundary. Exactly how much will you put up with?
The other question you could ask is simply: " Interesting, you really find that approach works for you?"
