Up next is a bioblitz with a twist, as we bring in some butterfly bonus rounds for the 2026 🧈🪰 (🦋)

We'll be exploring Bristol's beautiful Stoke Park on the lookout for birds, bugs and plants as always, before spending time focused solely on finding the butterflies that flutter by!

It makes no difference if you're a nature newbie or an identifier extraordinaire - all are welcome 🙂

Though you'd be forgiven for thinking we'd run away to some far off tropical rainforest.

We'll be heading into the valley for a ramble by the River Trym, taking in veteran trees, before emerging for a wander through the wildflower meadows. 🪻🌳

It's 2026 time - a friendly worldwide competition to see which city can observe the most species over a single wild weekend. 🔎🦆🦎🦈

No expert nature knowledge is needed - bring your phones, cameras and binoculars, and help us to find the wonderful, weird and familiar wildlife hidden right under our noses. 👃

Is this the year we help Bristol get to number one on the City Nature Challenge worldwide leaderboard?

Probably not, but let's at least try and ruffle York and Chester's feathers this time around, eh.*
