SCROLL is an art project developed to raise funds towards humanitarian support for the Ukrainian people during the current war in Ukraine.
On 27th May 2022, Sunflower Collective proudly presents an evening of art aimed at raising funds to provide urgent help to Ukraine.
Installed and running as a transcribe throughout the day, "SCROLL" will be generating a physically printed stream of ongoing events in Ukraine. Triggered by participating donations made towards the cause and offered as receipts to donors, "SCROLL" will be recording the timestamp, name, amount donated and relative information on the war in Ukraine at that time. In an effort to tokenize and distribute this information, the idea aims to contrast biased streams of digital and online media that can be subject to immidiate dissmissal by a user in the act of "scrolling", Ukraine will not be "scrolled" it out of existence.
This fundraiser will take place at Chelsea College of Arts’ Marquee on John Islip Street SW1P 4JU from 18.00-21.00 and will include a live auction, a silent auction, and a raffle of art made by more than fifty of London’s most promising emerging artists.
Entry is free.
Sunflower Collective is a London based student led collaboration between Sotheby’s Institute of Art and Chelsea College of Arts, BA Fine Art third year students. Backed by the University of Arts London, the collective was formed to lead a response to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
