At Brunelcare, we have just launched our new Values & Behaviours.
We are happy to announce that our reablement worker, Gemma, has showcased two of our key behaviours:
- I am committed to understanding the needs of others
- I contribute positively to the quality of services provided
Over the past year, the South Gloucestershire Community Reablement Team has been proud to support Sean on his journey to recovery and independence. When they first met him, he struggled with even simple daily tasks and needed constant support. He often stayed in the same chair for over 100 hours, used a litter picker to reach food and drink, and rarely ate a hot meal.
With the help of Gemma, the wider team, new routines, more regular visits, and a specialist chair, Sean began re-engaging with daily life. He started walking more, building healthier habits, eating at least one hot meal a day, and staying hydrated. His progress has been so significant that he says the experience has “changed my life” and that he has “found a friend in Gemma.”
Sean continues to thrive thanks to the dedication and kindness of the team. His transformation shows how person-centred support can truly change a life and reflects the values Gemma and the team live every day.
🌟A huge well done to Gemma and the Reablement Team for supporting Sean to change his life 🌟
