On Wednesday this week our Coordinator Yla and these brave souls gleaned LOADS of leek and cabbages! 🙏👌👏 Well done and thanks! The surplus crops went all over East Bristol to Coexist Community Kitchen and The Vassels Centre food club, plus others!

Today we rescued around 850 pumpkins with a group of fabulous volunteers!

For years now we have all enjoyed The Community Farm, and they have been extremely generous with supplying us with surplus vegetables and fruit. It's now time to support them with their urgent crowdfunder to raise £50,000 to keep their farm gates open!

For 15 years, The Community Farm, based just south of Bristol, has poured their hearts into building a better local food system: growing climate-friendly food, supporting nature, and bringing thousands of people together to learn, connect, and take action for a better future. Due to a sharp drop in grant funding they are now at risk of closure. Please support them and share.

Keep sharing better food and farming with the local community.

Once a week we have been collecting the surplus vegetables from The Community Farm and distributing to Bristol and Bath projects.
Today I dropped loads of fresh vegetables to Family Food Action at the Ardagh. 😊🙏

We were part of the discussions for Bristol Food Network action plan for waste on Thursday 16th January.
It was interesting to be part of! Making a Bristol wide plan for the next 5 years and a tangible plan for the next 2 years to decrease waste in the system and more efficiently distribute what there is.

Today we had a MEGA glean at Farrington’s Farm so huge thanks to those guys for letting us take their surplus! Around 500 pumpkins were recovered from the field and will be delivered to various food clubs and kitchens across Bristol and Bath. Well done and thanks to all the volunteers ✌️

Cabbage gleaning today at The Community Farm! We also gleaned some swede. We have been lucky with the weather lately! I also picked up salad and rocket from LettUs Grow and made lots of deliveries to Coexist Community Kitchen Vassall Community Hub and Eastville food club. Thanks all 🙏
