Hope for Ukraine is a group of local people who have an earnest desire to help as much as they can, to relieve the suffering of the displaced people of Ukraine. To do that, a few of us met at the beginning of March, and set about establishing a secure location that we could deliver the aid to, launching a Charity to ensure things were handled properly, and a bank account to receive any donations.
Using personal connections, we have already met with people from Eastern Europe, and were able to connect with the leaders of a church in Chernivtsi in the South west of Ukraine. Things are developing quickly, and in the first week we received over £4,500 in financial donations, were connected with groups in Yate and Keynsham and linked up with a haulier who can transport the goods. On the 24th April 2022 our first lorry of Humanitarian Aid made it to it's destination after a 9 day journey through Europe. Stay tuned for our next update...
