This morning I paid a visit to Bristol North West Foodbank in Avonmouth to see how our 2k recent grant was being used. Suffice to say, very well by the looks of things . With several volunteers popping in and out , the centre was a hive of activity. Boxes were being hastily packed ready for delivery to one of the 5 Foodbank collection points . I was also pleasantly surprised to discover another part of the building was being used by Space4Makers .This also offers members of the community a chance to meet up and learn carpentry skills at no cost .
As the demand for foodbanks continues to grow , Bristol Masons are proud to show our support for these vital charities.

BRISTOL MASONS AWARD CHARITY GRANT- Yesterday our Provincial Grand Charity Steward Simon Moss along with our Provincial Grand Almoner Prakash Dewani paid a visit to Julian Trust night shelter in St. Paul's Bristol.

They were greeted by the lovely Hannah Martin who gave them a guided tour and explained a bit about the incredible work they do . After its beginnings 40 years ago , the army of volunteers continue to support those in need . The 12 beds provide a safe place for their homeless guests 3 evenings a week , whilst their chefs can cook around 80 hot meals a day . Alongside this , Julian Trust offer shower and laundry facilities not to mention the huge storeroom of donated clothing etc.

Both Simon & Prakash were impressed on the cleanliness and how well the charity seems to be being run .

Simon said “It gives us great pleasure to support this charity with a £2000 grant from Bristol Mason's Charity” .
