*Africa at the Centre: Owning Our Resources, Shifting Power, Leading Change*

A powerful message emerging from the keynote discussions has been the need to ask: *What can Africa do with its own resources?*
Africa must not always be positioned at the margins of its own development story. Africa starts at the centre, and Africa must remain at the centre.

When we recognise, invest in and mobilise our own resources, we create the opportunity to shift power, strengthen local ownership, and lead the processes that shape Africa’s development.
The change we envision for Africa must be driven not only for Africa, but by Africans, with African resources, knowledge, leadership and solutions.

The time to centre Africa is now!!!.

Last week, Move The World, together with other partners in the Ghana Community Led Development participated in a validation and learning meeting at the PDA office in Accra. This collaborative is supported by the Global Fund for Children and MC2H.

The meeting provided an opportunity for partners to validate findings gathered from their respective communities, share experiences, and learn from one another. It was also a space to learn new things, unlearn behaviours and assumptions that are no longer useful, and relearn things we may have only partially understood before.

As Move The World continues to focus on the Gonse community, our representatives shared the learnings, findings, needs, and experiences gathered from the community.

Through collaboration, reflection, and shared learning, we continue to strengthen community led action.

Little by little, we Move The World.

At Move The World, we believe that sustainable development is built with communities, not just for communities.

Through community led initiatives, we aim to nurture ownership, strengthen local voices, and support people to become active changemakers in their communities.

As part of this shift, Move The World is temporarily moving from classroom based programs to community led initiatives. We will work with communities to identify challenges, develop their own solutions, and connect them with the relevant stakeholders who can support the implementation of these solutions.

Every idea matters. Every voice counts. Every action contributes to building a more inclusive and sustainable world.
Together, we don’t just create change. We Move The World!

As our academic year comes to an end, so does our Wave 2 Program.

We are proud to celebrate the remarkable journey of our students in both the Get Global and Get Local programs. As part of this achievement , each student will receive a certificate, while their SDG Passports (workbooks) will be inspected and stamped to recognize their dedication and progress throughout the program.

This week, we graduate another inspiring batch of young changemakers who have successfully completed seven months of intensive, engaging, and transformative Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) education. This journey has equipped them with knowledge, groomed mindsets for positive change, and empowered them to become active Global Citizens in shaping stronger, more sustainable communities.

Congratulations to us and to them!
Their journey doesn’t end here, it is only the beginning of the impact they will make.
