Have you booked your tickets for our Farewell Weekend yet?

27-29 November will be your last chance to visit all our sculptures, large and small, for the final time together in one room. There will be fun activities, a chance to meet artists, authors and Santa (at selected times) and of course, merchandise for sale. Our SEND friendly session will be the evening of Friday 27 November.

Our Story Trail Shop in Churchill Square is closed this Thursday (15th October). We'll be back open on Friday 16th and the weekend!

During half term, we will also be open 7 days a week, so plenty of time to grab your Story Trail merch!

The Story Trail is provided free for the community to enjoy but it is a fundraiser for Amaze.

Our BookBenches come with an invitation to so that we can raise awareness of Amaze and what they do, as well as raise vital funds to keep their services running!

Amaze is for any family in Brighton & Hove and East Sussex. Your child or young person does not need to have a formal diagnosis to get support from Amaze though some of their services have rules about who is eligible.

As well as being World Mental Health Day, today is also Bookshop Day and we are celebrating all the incredible bookshops our city has to offer. A special shout out goes to our wonderful friends at the Booknookhove who are hosting not one, but two very special sculptures - a spot not to be missed when you are out on the trail.

Firstly there is the beautiful Alice in Wonderland inspired BookBench outside the shop by the talented Kirsti Davison. And do not miss the interactive ‘Paint me!’ sculpture inside which combines the beloved characters from the author-illustrators Guy Parker Rees, Sophy Henn, Liz Pichon, Nick Sharratt, Steve Lenton, Nila Aye, Vicky Woodgate and Adam Stower.

We are enjoying looking back to the fantastic sculpture reveal event in August at the Book Nook with the Mayor of Brighton & Hove, some of the wonderful illustrators and the incredible young writers celebrated in our Story Trail Story competition.

You can have a go colouring in the Paint Me sculpture in the Book Nook until 8th November, where you can also pick up your sticker books, maps and paint-your-own mini kits.

Today is World Mental Health Day and we are asking - what do the following things have in common?

- connecting with people
- feeding creativity
- making life better for others
- keeping active

The answer is, these are all top tips for mental wellbeing shared as part of World Mental Health Day. But they are also all benefits of taking part in the Story Trail!

Whether you are exploring solo or taking a trip with friends or family, getting outside and experiencing the city in a new way through the inspiring designs from 30 incredible artists, connecting with passers-by, supporting an important cause AND getting your steps in – can be a brilliant boost to wellbeing as we roll into the new season.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday - 10am-5pm
Sunday - 11am-5pm

Come meet Benchy and buy your Story Trail Merch - including our Sticker Book which helps you follow the trail, tea towels, your own mini bench to paint and more!

Please do swing by, pick up a map to help you on your BookBench hunting and have a break from the trail in our activity area.

You may have been strolling around The Story Trail, stopping for a sit down or a selfie, but some people have been taking on the benches as a challenge...

Pictured is Rob Mears who ran 15 miles seeing all 30 benches on Sunday and then popped by the shop in Churchill Square to say hello!

We've had groups cycling, roller-skaters, grandparent-grandchild teams... and we would like to say a big thank you to anyone and everyone enjoying the trail.

However you've experienced the BookBenches, don't forget we're raising money for Amaze and every penny will go towards helping local families with children with SEND.

So please do set up a JustGiving page for your BookBench spotting, or pop by the shop to buy some merchandise (Thur-Sun), or book tickets to an event to show your support.
