Brightoning Lives is a collective of people currently in between employment looking to learn new skills and make new friends in projects that help the community. Some of the members of our group haven't worked for up to 10 years and are expected to apply for jobs online day in day out at the job centre. If they do manage to get a job interview it can be a very daunting experience after being out o
f work for so long. Our aim is to help them get back into work. By learning new skills, meeting new people and building lasting friendships. Most of our projects are outside in the beautiful countryside. Learning about Permaculture and growing fruit and vegetables. They are all projects that will help the community for years to come. Something we are very proud of as a team. We are extremely conscious of this whole experience being an enjoyable one. Nobody has to do anything they don't want to do. And as a group we have all agreed that we do not work outside when it rains. Over the months the group has become very close and 2 members have stayed on volunteering with us even though their time with us had officially finished. Everyone should be given a chance in life and that is what Brightoning Lives strives to do. Organisations we have worked with so far include:
